KΣ Brothers,

On April 30, 1971, the Lambda Epsilon chapter of Kappa Sigma was founded at Florida Technological University (FTU), now known as the University of Central Florida (UCF). In June 1996, after years of fundraising by the Lambda Epsilon Charitable Fund and dedicated effort on behalf of several alumni, the construction of the Lamba Epsilon Chapter House was completed. On May 8, 2010, as a result of multiple actions unbecoming of Kappa Sigma brothers, the Lambda Epsilon charter was revoked by Kappa Sigma Headquarters.

What happens now?

With the charter revoked, and the Kappa Sigma Fraternity no longer an organization at UCF, the KSAACF is preparing for the recolonization of the Lambda Epsilon chapter at UCF. We are gathering information and interfacing with Kappa Sigma Headquarters and the University of Central Florida to determine the requirements for recolonization, but one thing is certain: we need your financial support in order to make this happen. The former Lambda Epsilon chapter owes ~$11,000 to the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and ~$12,000 to the Lambda Epsilon Charitable Fund. Discussions between local alumni are ongoing as to how we may begin to repay this debt to the fraternity. In addition, ~$3,000 will be need for recolonization efforts. Any support that you can provide will assist us with the fundraising efforts.

As the KSAACF gathers more information as to what will be required to recolonize, this website will be updated with the latest information.

What can you do?

In the past, for other chapters that have had their charter revoked, two major factors contributed to the success of their return: the university's willingness to allow the fraternity to return to campus; a large, supportive, and highly active local alumni chapter. Without the support of a local alumni base, a new or returning chapter remains in jeopardy of succeeding.

If you would like to contribute to our recolonization efforts, please send your contributions to:

Kappa Sigma Alumni Association of Central Florida
Lambda Epsilon Recolonization
PO Box 781073
Orlando, FL 32878-1073

Checks should be made out to the Kappa Sigma Alumni Association of Central Florida with "Lambda Epsilon Recolonization" on the check's comment line.

Please note that at this time, we are not able to accept tax-deductible donations. We are researching the possibility of enabling this in the future, but for now, you cannot claim donations to the KSAACF as tax-deductible.

Additionally, the Kappa Sigma Alumni Associaion of Central Florida is accepting donations securly via PayPal. If you would like to donate, click the button below. You do not need to create a PayPal account to donate.

This is a dark time in the history of the Lambda Epsilon chapter, but with a strong alumni base and the dedication of local Kappa Sigma brothers, the KSAACF will do its best to help reinstate the Lambda Epsilon chapter at UCF, stronger than ever.
